Colavita was founded in 1938 in Sant’Elia a Pianisi, a small town in the Molise region of Italy. The founder, Giovanni Colavita began the family olive oil tradition that saw the birth of Colavita Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
The Colavita family started a small business crushing homegrown olives to produce fine extra virgin olive oil. Over time, they developed their expertise, as knowledge is passed down from one generation to another.
Colavita is renowned for its premium quality extra virgin olive oil. The process begins with the careful cultivation of olive trees. The ripe olives are harvested and sent to the mill for processing using the cold-pressed method.
In its efforts to maintain strict quality standards, Colavita has been recognised by the International Organisation for Standardization (ISO). The ISO has found Colavita to be in compliance with the ISO 9002 quality system, This certification ensures quality in all functions concerning the production and delivery of goods and services.
